An Introduction to IaaS Cloud Services
The cloud has long been a metaphor for the Internet. More recently, “cloud computing” has emerged as a Web-based model enabling access to a shared pool of configurable IT resources, such as servers, networks, applications, storage and services.
Cloud computing is rapidly growing in popularity principally because it is a convenient, cost-ef- fective way to add capacity or capabilities on demand, without having to invest in new infra- structure, license new software, or train personnel. Small to midsize businesses, in particular, are attracted to the advantages of migrating all or part of their IT infrastructure to the cloud.
